Safeguarding in the municipal sector

Around 5,500 members of Akava Special Branches are employed by municipalities and municipal federations. Members in the municipal sector work in supervisory and specialist positions in administration and culture.

The largest professional groups within the municipal sector are librarians, occupational therapists, museum staff and secretaries of cultural affairs and recreation. The largest professional groups working in administration are planners, researchers, project workers and people in managerial and supervisory positions.
