Safeguarding in the private sector
Around 40 per cent of members of Akava Special Branches are employed by the private sector. Union members work in all collective agreement sectors as well as in sectors and workplaces that do not yet have collective agreements. Members work typically in communications, human resource management, financial management and assistant positions.
Akava Special Branches is represented by the Experts and Managerial Professionals Association YTN in collective agreement negotiations for the private sector. Akava Special Branches also engages in its own negotiations for collective agreements with specific companies as well as for a collective agreement with private museums.
