Safeguarding the Interests of Akava Members within the University Sector
 

Approximately 1,000 of the members of Akava Special Branches work in the university sector.
The general collective agreement for universities is negotiated by the mediation organisation for qualified public sector employees, JUKO (Julkisalan koulutettujen neuvottelujärjestö), together with the organisation for employers within the cultural and educational fields (Sivistystyönantajat ry). JUKO represents approximately 18,000 employees within the university sector.
