Unemployment

If you apply for benefits, such as an earnings-related unemployment allowance, from the Unemployment Fund for the Specially Trained (ERKO), the fund always checks that your membership fee payments are up to date before issuing a favourable decision.
You pay the union membership fee on benefits paid by the unemployment fund (incl. earnings-related unemployment allowance, training allowance, job alternation compensation and financial support for labour market training). If you send the unemployment fund a letter of authorisation, the fund debits your membership fee directly.

If you prefer, you can pay your membership fees yourself and you do not need to send a letter of authorisation.

You do not pay union membership fees on the benefits you receive from KELA.

Please remember to notify Akava Special Branches of any other changes in your membership information.
